Ph.D, Univeersity of Iowa. Recipient of NEH and ACLS Fellowships.  Co-editor (with Jerry Klinkowitz) of “Literature 1945—“ section of The Norton Anthology of American Literature.  Contributor to the Columbia History of American Poetry.  Poet.  Research interests include contemporary literature, 20 and 21^sst century poetry, American modernism, poetry writing.  Have taught and run workshops on the creative process and on creativity and contemplation.  Teach frequently in the multidisciplinary program of American Culture and Women’s Studies.
